Evaluation of the English programme for primary education according to teachers' opinions

This research has been made to determine teachers? opinions about English Programme for primary education.For that reason 50 participants of the study has been chosen who teach Englih by using random in some primary schools in Bolu and its towns.To examine the programme?s applicability, the questionnaire which contains 40 questions, was distributed to teachers.The questionnaire contains , goals , content, learning situations and evaluation dimensions which must be in a programme. For programme?s goals 14, for content 16, for learning situations 6 and for evaluations 4 questions were asked to teachers.Teachers were asked to answer the questionnaire by using Likert type (from 5 to 1).At first the questionnaire results was explained in general by considering frequency and percentage.Then teachers sexuality, job experiences and graduation were considered. By using Chi-square technic, to determine whether there is a difference related to programme dimensions between the groups was examined.At the end of this research the teachers who participated to questionnaire think positive about the programme and its applicability has been understood.As for sexuality, job experience,and graduation results; there was a significant difference some of the elements has been determined.Significant differences about sexuality, job experience, and graduation have been found between the groups in the tables of 53rd 61st and 82nd with goals.Significant differences about job experience and graduation have been found between the groups in the tables of 119th and 131st with content.Significant differences about sexuality and job experience have been found between the groups in the tables of 141st and 153rd with learning situations.Significant differences about job experience and graduation have been found between the groups in the tables of 158th, 159th and 165th with evaluation.Key Words: English Programme, Primary Education, Teachers?
