The views of the teachers about being applied of the elementary education science and technology curriculum (The example of the city of Erzincan)

The main aim of this research is to determine the troubles faced by science andtechnology teachers in the course of carrying out science and technology curriculums in theelementary 6. class. This research is in the scanning model of learning the views of teachers.In the academic year of 2007-2008, 111 science and technology teachers who are working inErzincan and its towns? elementary schools took part in this research. The content validity ofthe means of data collection and the convenience of the items of inquiry to the aim weredetermined according to the views of experts.The items of inquiry were discussed by the experts in the field of programdevelopment and science, and by removing some items from the inquiry, last shape was givento the inquiry. To determine the reliability of the inquiry which was developed by theresearcher, Cronbach Alfa reliability quotient was calculated. The inquiry developedaccording to the calculations was found reliable in the proportion of 0.96.The datas collected by science and technology teachers according to the troublesentence of the research and the rest problems were analyzed by using SPSS (StatisticalPacket For The Social Science) statics programme. Concerning the personel information ofthe science and technology teachers who took part in the research, frequency (f) andpercentage (%) values were calculated. Arithmetic mean ( X ), standard deviation (S), t testand variance analysis were calculated for every item which was prepared for the componentsof education program.In the end of research, the inadequacy of the time suggested for the units and the costof the activities were found on the high side.
