The opinions of students, teachers, and museum authorities intended for the museum activities in visual arts lesson in primary education

The fundamental purpose of this study is to emphasize the necessity of correlation between visual art education lesson and museum activities in accordance with the opinions and proposals of students teachers and museum authorities intended for using the museum activities in visual arts education lesson .In this study descriptive model,which has quantitative and qualitative methods itself, has been applied. For quantitative datas 125 students from the second grade of 48 primary schools in Ankara and Tokat furthermore 30 visual art lesson teachers from a variety of primary schools in Ankara, Tekirdağ, Kastamonu Kayseri Rize Trabzon and Tokat, have been applied rating scale data collection forms. In the study Percentage analysis,frequency analysis,arithmetic mean have been applied. Comparisons have been analysed by the help of independent t-test. For qualitative data semi-structured interview forms have been applied for 18 museum authorities and workers in Ankara, İstanbul Tokat, Amasya, Kütahya and Afyon.The results reached in terms of the purposes of the study : It has been observed that the answers of the students and teachers are coherent however in some museums both the teachers and the students had difficulty in applying practical works. Just after the trips they expressed that three-dimensional works, produced with printing and shaping materials, were much used, on the other hand drama, discussion and research tecniques were less used compared with the practical ones.There were also some differences between the opinions and the proposals of students,teachers and museum authorities. Museum authorities expressed that most of the students had not been informed before the trips so they didn?t obey the rules and finally they all agree on the idea that most museums were lack of workshops so museum activities couldn?t be carried out properly.
