Abstract (EN)
This study was carried out so as to determine the causes of use and disuse use of measurement and assessment tools, methods with frequency used in the first stage of primary school, social studies curriculum. In this study descriptive research method was used. The sample of the research is composed of 204 primary school teachers 156 students and 99 teacher candidates. In this study Measurement and Assessment Tools Methods Determination Scale which was developed by researcher was used in the process of collecting data. While analysing derived data; frequency, the percent, mean, Standard deviation, t-test, one way ANOVA and Scheffe test analysis were used.Generally teachers have been using measurement and assessments tools and methods, marked as ?mostly? by teachers and ?sometimes? by candidate teachers. However students have the opinion that nearly half of the teachers use alternative measurements and assessment tools and methods (AÖDAY) and ?almost all? use traditional measurements and assessment tools and methods (GÖDAY)While the relationship between teachers and students? view is meaningful about primary school teachers? using AÖDAY the relationship is not meaningful between teacher-candidate teacher and student-candidate teachers? view. However, the relationship is not meaningful among teacher, candidate teachers and students? view about using GÖDAY. Teachers? locations of school, level of class, gender, graduation status and year of service have been examined according to the use of state of measurement and assessment tools and methods. Differences on year of service and location of school have been accepted meaningful. It is designated teachers use AÖDAY mostly because it provides wide and detailed opportunity of assessment about students? development and it provides the opportunity to assess product and process together. Teachers do not use GÖDAY as it is complex, it requires additional time for application, it is difficult to prepare and it takes up time.
