Abstract (EN)

This research is a defining study in the model of general scanning aiming to determine the views of class masters who are in charge at first grades of primary schools on classroom discipline. In this respect, the views of the teachers at first grades of primary schools on disciplinary problems they meet in the classrooms, the reasons of these disciplinary problems, the methods they use against these problems and their views on physical punishment are taken in this research. It is also tried to be determined in what respect the views of the teachers differ on their sexes, professional seniorities, the level of the classrooms they were in charge with and the type of the schools they finished.The class masters who were in charge in the educational year of 2006?2007 in the province center of Düzce are the main scopes of this research. By taking these scopes into consideration the 165 teachers who are in charge in 16 primary schools formed the sampling of the research. The data needed to make this research is determined by the application of the survey formed of 67 articles developed by Aksoy (1999).When the teachers views on the behaviors of the students breaking discipline in class management, the reasons lying behind these behaviors and the methods used against them and their views on physical punishment were taken, no difference was determined regarding their sexes, the type of the schools they finished and the level of the classrooms they were of the students breaking discipline in class management, the methods used against them and their views on physical punishment were taken a significant difference was determined regarding the teachers professional seniorities.
