Fullfilment situation of goals taking place in art lesson curriculum program of second grade primary education

In this study, it was tried to be assessed how the aims in the currentcurriculum of the visual arts course for the secondary level of the primary educationhave been achieved from the perspective of students. Institutional researches wereconducted in the study and qualitative and quantitative data were obtained throughsurveys and questionnaires.For this questionnaire to be applied to 8th grade classes, three towns wereselected in Ankara, each being at different levels of development. From these threetowns, three schools were selected randomly and one branch from each school withthe same method. The data obtained were documented following the completion ofthe questionnaires.Statistical evaluation of the questionnaire developed by using five-pointLikert Scale for quantitative data was done through the analysis of SPSS (TheStatistical Packet for the Social Sciences) programme. In comparison of the gradeaverages, arithmetical average, standard deviation and t-test were used.The data obtained as a result of the questionnaires and research conductedshowed that the school environment or environmental negative aspects did not play aremarkable role in the achievement of the aims of the visual arts courses. This studyput forward that the aims in the curriculum could be achieved through the applicationof a realistic programme by an expert teacher despite all the negative aspects ofexternal factors.When assessed from the point of sexes, girl students were more positive to theachievement level of the aims than were the boys.
