The opinion of the students and the teachers on frequency and management of the discipline cases in different level of branches

This research has tried to determine how often and at what conditions the discipline problems occur at Maths , Social science , Science and Turkish in a primary school and what are the solutions to cope with them examination has been used in this research .Research surveys are carried out on 160 teachers and 240 students of 20 state primary schools in Bakırköy district of İstanbul.Two surveys have been carried out. One for the teachers, and other one for the students. There are four parts in surveys of teachers. In the first part, there is personal identity second, third and forth parts include related questions. There are three parts in surveys of students. In the first part, personal identity and others include related questions.This research has six parts. These are introduction, related publications , methods, finding condusions and advice.Evaluations show that there aren?t clear differences about discipline problems and the way of coping with them between social science and science.There are some important consequences of the research. Although there aren?t distinguished difference with science, especially there are some discipline problems in Social Science. Students usually behave badly when they are bored with the subjects. There are difference of views between teachers and students about the source of discipline problems.There are some advice in this research. Teachers should have a well designed programme and draw out an interesting view. They should consider the interests and need of the students. Teachers should co ? operate with eachother about their students behaviours. Students should have been identified themselves in a democratic way. And also democratic discipline methods should be carried out.Key Words: Discipline, Class ? control, Student, Punishment, Behavior
