A study on vocabulary teaching techniques in the Turkish course books and students’ workbooks for the second grades of primary schools

In this study, it is aimed that it has been accepted to read as a course book during 5 years at the 2005-2006 education and training term of a primary instution by National Education Ministry Teaching and Training Commission Chairmanship, the activities which are in the Turkısh books and students? workbooks for the second grades ın the primary school have been published at the 2574 volumes of Notification Bulletin, used techniques of vocabulary teaching and the numbers of these techniques and vocabularys which will be taught and determining the number of these vocabularys and evaluate them. In the study, model of scanning was used, after scanning related the book, this conclusion has released: The techniques of vocabulary teaching at the activities, which are used commonly, aim to vocabulary teaching at the related boks; ıt was stated that vocabulary teaching with puzzle, using clues at the sentence and text, build up a sentence, using a sentence, vocabulary teaching with association, vocabulary teaching with matching, vocabulary teaching with making group, writing a text, vocabulary teaching with picture, using a dictionary. Activities which aim to vocabulary teaching in the book, has been examined according to this techniques and the datas have been acquired was given at the same topic.
