An Investigation on the usage of instructional technologies by the subject teachers according to some variables at the second grade of the primary schools

In this research which is descriptive, the usage of instructional technologies inactivities of education by the teachers and the differences according to the gender, age,seniority, level of education and subject are investigated.The research is performed by applying questionnaires to 246 teachers from 11primary schools, in second semester of 2005-2006, in Seyhan, the town of Adana. Thequestionnaire consists of 59 questions. For the analysis of the research results SPSSprogram is used, first the frequencies and percentages for the answers of all teachers inthe research are calculated. By the ?Chi-square? test, the difference between the usageof instructional technologies according to gender, age, seniority, level of education andsubject is examined and the ones which have meaningful difference are shown in chartsusing ?Crosstabs?.Eventually, it is determined that the usage of instructional technologies is notenough. Some of the reasons are lack of materials in schools, the difficulty of findingthese materials and teachers not having enough information about the instructionaltechnologies.Keywords: Subject teachers, instructional technologies, material.
