The effect of teaching teams and leadership on student success in primary schools

Developments in the field of technology in recent years also brought about a radical change in social structure and especially at the end of the last century, information as the transition to a society come to the fore. Information that is the primary value of this emerging society, educational institutions are transferred from individual to individual and developed, the quality and quantity of education provided in educational institutions are becoming increasingly important. For this reason, there is a system in educational institutions that focuses on the place of classical education, modern approaches to education and organizational structural components. Therefore, the management and monitoring of education seems to have gained importance in this process. One of the new approaches developed in education is the management and monitoring of organizational structural components. In the past, teamwork and leadership, which are widely discussed in companies or private institutions, appear to be used in educational institutions in this context. Both in business and management literature as well as in other fields than training on teamwork and leadership made a lot of research, but studying in primary school teachers and teacher-led teams did not find enough work together. In other news today, after the establishment of the classical education system, which could be considered in part new assessment of the performance of this approach, the analysis encountered difficulties in applying and advantages, the applicability of the requirements of this procedure is of great importance for increase to make a resource for both future studies. For this reason, it is to be examined how the team of teachers and the leadership of teachers influence the performance of pupils in primary schools. The study measured teacher teams and teacher leadership in various randomized schools in Istanbul, and examined the relationship between student achievement in these schools and teacher team and leadership scores. In this study, which was designed in the descriptive survey model, data was collected by questionnaire and semi-structured scale methods. In the analysis of the data, statistical methods and content analysis methods from qualitative analysis methods were used. According to the results of the study, teamwork and leadership perception show no statistically significant difference according to demographic characteristics (p> 0.05). In leadership applications, only internal leadership dimension showed statistically significant difference according to marital status (p <0.05). There was no statistically significant relationship between team work and leadership dimensions (p> 0.05). It was found that school success was statistically significant and positively correlated with team work (r = 0.308; p <0.001) and external leadership (r = 0.256; p <0.001). The effect of team work on school success was higher. The results of the qualitative analysis revealed that teachers generally have structures that are compatible with leadership and teamwork, but these concepts have not been adequately studied.
