Historical development of using computer based education in primary mathematics

In this research; the use of computer based education in primary school; the level of using computer based education in mathematics, kinds of education softwares, are investigated in the aspect of simplifying learning and taking position in historical development.Educational technology, teaching technology individual teaching technology and rules of programmed education is mentioned in research. It contains many explanations about computer based education and informs about limitations and benefits of education and also about the important points. The aims of primary mathematics and the usual methods are also exist in the research.In the research that the document investigation is made; the data that are thought to be related with the subject are organized using source cards and note cards. Investigations show that there exists many softwares for the usage of computer based education in primary mathematics, the usage of computers in primary mathematics simplifies learning and computer based education begins to exist in primary mathematics education syllabus.As a result; mathematics is one of the lessons that uses most computer based education in primary schools. However, it is observed that the use of computer based education in our country is lower comparing to the developed countries.According to this research, investigating computer based education softwares by global means and translating them to Turkish convenient for primary syllabus is necessitated. It is advised comparing suitable materials that exist for mathematics syllabus computer based education in our country to other countries.
