Abstract (EN)
Qualitative research method has been used in collecting and interpreting the data of this study, which aims to determine primary school mathematic teachers' view on the applicability of strategic brain teasers in mathematic teaching and the contribution of these games to mathematic teaching. This study was carried out during the 2021-2022 academic term with six primary mathematic teachers that have been determined on a voluntary basis and who already are on working as mathematics teachers in public secondary schools affiliated with Kırıkkale province. The data for the study were collected in two stages; the game-experience process and the semi-structured interviews. The implementation process has been video and audio recorded, and then elaborately analyzed. The experiences of the study during the game-experience process and the opinions of the primary school mathematic teachers obtained from the semi-structured interviews with 15 questions that have taken place after the implementation have been classified according to their subjects. Based on the results of the study, it has been concluded that strategic brain teasers can be used for different purposes in mathematic lesson either as materials or as the attention-catching element, that such games will positively affect the academic success in the subject, and that these games will positively contribute to the attitudes and motivations the students have towards the mathematic subject.
