Expectatıons and tendıng on swımmıng of prımary school students ın summer schools (sample of Gaziantep cıty)

People are living things who maintain their lives. Even if some people leave society in time and get away fromit, they stil maintain life and transfer its features to new people through socialization. Socialization begins in the family, continues with school life and friendship and exists at every stage of life. Starting from this point, this study was made in order to determine the expectations, tendencies and efforts of primary school students who paticipating in summer sports school, which we think is a factor for students to socialize beter. This study was conducted on 160 primary school students (106 male, 54 female) who joined in the summer sports schools in Gaziantep in 2011. ?Survey? tecnique was used in this study. In order to achieve the goals in the survey, a questionnaire form was prepared throyah literature review about the topic and by benefiting from similar research samples. The reliability of the questionnaire was calculated and the reliability was faund ?= 0.851. the data abtained from the questionnaire was initially transferred to computer environment and later analyses were done by using SPPS 16.0 package program. In the analyses of the data, Frequency. The results revealed tahat the fist factor directing children to swimming was their parents attitudes their own attitudes and desires to learn how to swim. The mean scores of these two factors were the highest and the mean scores of other factors were found medium or low. When it cames to their ideas about the reasons of their efforts, the love of swimming was the first factor; however the first factor related to their expectations was found as being healthy and keeping it for a long time.
