The usage of information technologies in classrom environment amoung primary school teachers and their perception on in-service training programs on it (Sakarya city sample)

In this study, the perception of Primary teachers attended in-service training on information Technologies about how successful they are at using information Technologies in classroom environment were examined.The sample of this study consisted of 164 teachers who were working at schools in Sakarya in the academic year of 2007-2008. The data was obtained by using a questionnaire and a semi-structured interview. The qualitative content analysis and frequency analysis were used for the analysis of the data obtained.The findings of this study revealed that teachers attended in-service training on information Technologies mostly used information Technologies in classroom environment.Results also indicated that teachers who were satisfied with in-service training given tended to use information Technologies more readily than those who were not.According to the results, the difficulties teachers facing in using information Technologies generally resulted from problems caused by hardware . It was also seen that some schools still could not provide educational software and the internet for their teachers.?
