Elementary teachers' perceptions of organizational justice with perspectives on violence

The purpose of this research is to determine the teachers? understanding about their organizational justice and their ideas about the violence at school. Therefore; distributional, operational and interactional aspects of justice is discussed in accordance with the teachers? ideas of violence and some variable aspects such as demographic, environmental and occupational aspects to determine whether the teachers? point of view on violence at school differs from one to another. Determining the source of violence and getting the ideas of teachers to prevent violence at secondary schools is also aimed. This study has also aimed to detect negative elements that ruin the healthy learning atmosphere at secondary schools and help researchers and people in charge to offer solutions to this problem. Fort his study, literature has been searched and a Likert scale (of five) survey has been conducted in all secondary schools in Şehitkamil district, in the city of Gaziantep. All data, that was got from 1.900 secondary school teachers and 617 participants was processed parametrically and non-parametrically by SPSS 20.0 package program. Accordingly, while processing the data about the teachers? perception of justice and reasons of violence, numbers, ratios, arithmetic means and standard deviation techniques have been used to determine statistical analysis. For further analysis of pairs, T-test for parametric comparisons, and Chi-Square test for non-parametric comparisons have been used while ANOVA for parametric multiple (more than two) groups and Kruskal-Wallis H test for non-parametric multiple groups have been used. According to the data that is calculated from the analysis there is low and negative relation between operational justice and violence at secondary schools. Accordingly, it can be supposed that an increase in the teachers? perception of justice is likely to reduce their ideas on causes of violence. However, since the relation between the two is low, more powerful arguments haven?t been able to proposed.
