Teacher opinions about 4th classes English programme in primary schools

This study is focused to determine the opinion of teachers about teaching the new English programme in 4th classes in primary schools.The population of the study consists of teachers of English working in primary schools in 4th classes in whole Aydın. The sample of the study consists of the teachers of English in primary schools in 4 th classes in centre of Aydın.This study is descriptive to determine the opinion of teachers, data collecting means has been developed by the researchers related to the opinion of the adviser and experts.After pre-trial on teachers the last form of the questionare has been attained.The questionnare consists of six parts. There are five items about the personal information of the teachers in the first part, eighteen items about the objectives of the programme in the second part, twenty two items about the organization of the content in the third part, twenty five items about the learning situations in the forth part, twelve items about testing situations in the sixth part and there are two open-ended scale in the last part. The seventy seven items have been done by means of likert type.Considering the objectives, frequency (f), percentage (%) and arithmetic mean( ) of data collected have been found by the help of survey.The results attained from the analysis have been interpreted by using the tables.It has been seen that the opinions considering the objectives, content, learning situations and testing situations have condensely gathered at the part of ?I agree?.According to the results of the study , time in a week is unsufficient to applicate the new English programme, although the students in this age are desirous to learn the foreign language, they can not use the language effectively, the teachers have some problems in reading,writing, listening and speaking, because of the crowded classes teachers have problems to applicate the activities in classes, the teachers have problems to find he materials easily, the teachers want to have education about the new English programme .KEY WORDSEnglish Programme, Teacher, Curriculum Evaluation.
