Attitudes of teachers working in primary schools towards their ability to use computer and the computer aided instruction(Sample of Bartin City)

In the research, the teachers working in primary schools were examined according to their ability to use computer and their attitude towards the computeraided instruction. The universe of research is formed by the teachers working 31 primary schools connected to center of Bartın city. By means of collecting datum, a questionnaire forming 40 questions was prepared and it was applied to a sample group consisted of 270 teachers. The datum obtained from the research were analysed with the help of SPSS(Statical Packages for the Social Sciences). With the aim of determining whether there is an important difference related to subproblems or not variance were done. The meaningfulness level of research was accepted as .05. At the end of research; 1. The average of teachers? ability to use computer was found 2.63 out of 5 and the average of their attitudes to the computer-aided instruction was found 3.88. It was determined that teachers had a positive attitude towards computer-aided instruction. 2. 48.9 percent of the teachers have been using the computer-aided instruction. 3. There are data technology classrooms in 90.7 percent of the schools and internet connection in 63 percent of them. Yet class softwares that can be used are still limited. 4. There are remarkable differences between teachers ability to use computer and using instruction methods with computer. 5. Some variables like teachers? ages, sexes, education levels, having computer training during their education, having a computer have affected their abilities to use a computer. Their attendancy to in-service training activities of Ministery of Education hasn?t constituted important differences. 6. Teachers? age, sexes, education levels, seniorities, and attitudes towards the computer aided education hasn?t showed remarkable differences in their attendancy to the courses arranged by Ministery of Education.
