Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between the job satisfaction and the locus of control of the teachers working in the elementary schools in Izmir.These factors are accepted as the basic variables of this study. Factors thought to be related theoretically are also investigated as if there is any relationship with these basic variables The basic guestion of this study is ? Is there a statistically significant relationship between the job satisfaction and the locus of control of the elemantary school teachers and with the sociodemographic factors related to teachers?? The sample of this study consists of eight elementary school teachers (N=315) in Balçova, ın Izmir, in the year of 2006-2007. Job satisfaction Inventory, Rotter?s Locus of control Inventory and a questionnaire prepared by the investigator to determine the socio demographic factors are used in this study. According to the the results of the study there is statistically significant relationship between the job satisfaction and locus of control of the elemantary school teachers. The teachers who have internal locus of control are more satisfied in their jobs than the teachers having outer locus of control. It ıs found to be there is statistically, significant relatiorship between the socio demographic factors and locus of control, jobstatisfaction
