Abstract (EN)
The aim of this survey is to determine the opinions of teachers and administrators? perception and expectation about the occupational study period, mostly experienced in their own schools, held in September and June annually. In the light of the findings it is aimed to contribute to make an advance in developing our teachers themselves and to enrich the content of the period.Research environment consists of the primary school teachers and administrators who work in the center of the city of Düzce and its district between the years 2007 and 2008. In the environment there are 1232 education employees. Random technique was used in the process of forming sample. Survey instruments were given to 425 teachers and 120 administrators, and feedback was taken back from 380 teachers and 112 administrators. As a result 485 survey tools were used at all in the evaluation.In this research, the data collection system developed and applied by Tonbul(2006) in İzmir with the name of `? Ideas on the Occupational Study Period in Primary Schools?? was used. The data collection system used in the survey tool consists of personal information, open-ended questions, a system used to determine the perception and expectation level which contains 15 sub-divisions. The reliability parameter of the survey is .94.Research results were examined to find whether there was a significant difference between the participants? personal properties and the level of perception and expectation. Finally the results were presented within the charts.The acquired data was analysed using SPSS (Statistics Programs for Social Scientists) computer program. Percentage and frequency were used to determine the range of the paticipants? characteristic properties. The open-ended items included in survey tool was analysed with content analysing technique, the answers given to the questions were gathered under certain headlines and presented in tables, meanwhile percentage and frequency were calculated.According to participants? characteristic properties test-t, one-way variance analysis (Anova), frequency, average, standard deviation; parametric tests (t,F) were used to define the difference occured in accordance with parameters.In the research it was appointed that 35,5% of the teachers don?t recall the subject they studied on. As regards to the 38,1% of the teachers; administrators state the contents of the study and while preparing their subjects source scanning and internet are perferred commonly. According to the 54,7% of the teachers the report results are not accounted; 56,8% of the teachers think school administrators, 63,2% think the inspectors do not guide them. 49,3 of the teachers consider the occupational studies as ineffective.There is a remarkable significant difference in teachers? perception and expectation levels about the occupational study period. A difference was determined among teachers in paratmeters of title and graduation. A significant difference was determined in teachers? perception and expectation in paratameters of field of study, term of service, socioeconomic condition. No difference was stated in the parameters of gender and marital status.As a result of the survey on the efficiency of occupational study organised annually by the National Ministry of Education, it was concluded that it would be benificial to evaluate the opinions of teachers in constitution, preparation, reporting the subjects of seminars and teachers? more freely and authentically activities. It is thought to be contributational to the occupational development of teachers to draw the attention of teachers by using the results of the survey.
