The research of the qualities of a school manager according to the perceptions of the teachers who work at primary schools

Abstract (EN)

It is aimed to define whether there is a differentiation on the perception of an effective school manager of the teachers working in primary schools depending on the parameters both on the gender, age, educational level, seniority ,branch of the teachers and their leadership education or not. There search environment is the teachers 2445 who work in primary schools 59 in Üsküdar, İstanbul. The sample group is composed of 369 teachers from 19 schools which are defined by the coincident sample method. The questionnaire of the features of an effective school manager is composed of 49 questions. In order to test whether the difference between the averages of the two unconnected samples is meaningful or not, independent group ''t test'' and "Mann Whitney – U Test" have been applied. And to test whether the difference among the averages of more than two sample groups is meaning ful or not, one-way variance analysis(ANOVA) has been applied.After applying this analysis(ANOVA),Post-Hoc Scheffe tests have been applied. Meaningfulness of the statistics got at the end of there search has been found bilateral and on 05 level. At the end of there search, meaningful difference shave been found on 9., 19., 24., 31., 42. items on gender parameter; on 22., 24., 48. items on age parameter; on 7., 18., 24., 41. and 44 items on educational level parameter; on 11., 16., 18., 29., 41. items on branch parameter; on 4., 15. items on leadership education parameter and on 2., 12., 16., 30. and 36. items on educational parameter. It has been seen that the perception of the teachers is the same on both other items of the questionnaire of an effective school manager and the seniority parameter.
