The relationship between primary school teachers? self-efficacy for teaching profession by analyzing

This study was performed to determine the relationship between primary school teachers? self-efficacy for teaching profession by analyzing them in terms of various variables. The population consisted of 1264 teachers who worked at state and private primary schools in Sultanbeyli, Istanbul, TURKEY in 2011-2012. The sample was 544 teachers randomly selected among the population.The necessary permissions are taken for the Turkish version, adapted by Yeşim Çapa Aydın, of `Teachers? Sense of Self Efficacy Scale?, developed by Tschannen- Moran and Woolfolk Hoy. In the analysis of the data received, methods such as; frequency, percentage, arithmetic average, standard deviation, t test, unilateral variation analysis and Tukey HSD are used.Finally, teachers reported a great deal effacious in self-efficacy scale. For sense of efficacy, no differences were found between teachers in terms of gender, age (efficacy in student engagement), the number of seminars and trainings they participated in (except for teaching strategies and classroom management), weekly working hours (except for teaching strategies and class management) and graduated schools?s name (except for teaching strategies and class management). On the other hand they have significant differences in terms of age (except efficacy in student engagement), how long they have been working at their schools, graduated schools, branch, the number of seminars and trainings they participated in (for teaching strategies), the type of the schools they work, how long they have been working at their schools (efficacy in student engagement and general self efficacy), educational level.Key Words: Self Efficacy, Sense Of Self Efficacy in Teachers, Teacher Efficacy
