Abstract (EN)
In the thesis, primary school teachers? perception of effective school concept and their effective perception levels of existent primary schools have been examined. The study has been done in the sample of Zeytinburnu county of Istanbul city.In the study, ?literature review? and ?field research? techniques have been used in data collection. In field survey study, survey sheets have been applied to primary school teachers and survey method has been used as a technique.At the end of the study, although some qualities (parents? relationships with school, student achievement, teachers? professional development opportunities, etc.) and the dimensions relating to schools do not precisely respond the teachers? expectations, it has been observed that teachers are open to innovations and changes and perceive the primary schools as effective schools.Key Words: effectiveness, effective school, organizational effectiveness, perception, school improvement
