Abstract (EN)

u ABSTRACT This study is related with especially the impacts of the illustrations at the Turkish language course books used at educating first level grade students of the primary school and with the characteristics of the illustrations present at the course books in general. Consequently it has been tried to investigate the impacts of the illustrations at the first level Turkish language course books of primary school on the behaviors and attentions of the students. In the first part of the study; certain theoretical and practical information are given such as the graphical arts and illustration, the history of the graphical arts in Turkey, form and content properties of illustration and the illustration techniques. In the second part of the study; the methods and techniques used at the field research performed aimed to measure the functions of the illustrations at the Turkish language course books of primary school first level in Turkey are discussed. The sample group representing the research environment is defined. Whereas at the research method comprising the third part of the study, the environment in which the study has been performed is described and the selection of sample group representing this environment is mentioned. The data gathering and the analysis of the gathered data has again been performed in the scope of this section. In the fourth part of the study; the findings of the questionnaire utilized at the field research is taken and these are tried to be interpreted. The answers provided by the sample assumed to represent the primary school first grade students to the questions on the questionnaire is formulated into tabular form and the quantitative results obtained are evaluated. In the final result section of the study; the assumptions proposed in the beginning, the defined main and sub-problems are discussed together with the results of theHI field research. As a result it has been concluded that the illustrations at the first level Turkish language course books of primary school have positive impacts on the behaviors and attentions of the students. Based on this result, it has been tried to propose some suggestions related to the illustrations at the Turkish language course books to better-improve these positive impact.
