Using of effective time adeguacy in lesson of primary class teachers

Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the of teachers?, supervisors? and administrators? view points in relation to primary school teachers?effective use of time in class.During the study Qualitative research method wasand the qualitative data were collected through semi-structured interview techniqueby the researcher 20 elementary class teachers, 6 primary education supervisors and 6 primary school administrators formed the study proup of this study and the data collected at primary schools6 administratorslocated in Bolu through using snowball chaining sampling method. In this study fort he analysis of the qualitative data content analysis technique was used to by the researcher to examine the view points of the study group through 25 questions.The following results were obtained in this research;1- About the primary school teachers?effective time disposal before the class, teachers, supervisors and administrators emphasized the importance of making arrangements before class.2- In addition to these results is also reached: İnstructional materials must be prepared before the class, effectiveness of lesson is increased by using these instructional materials, during the lessons and instructional materials during the lesson are considered as waste of time, these instructional materials before class.3- About the primary school teachers?, effective time disposal at the beginning of the class, teachers, supervisors and administrators shared common views about teachers?activities (e.g.) at the beginning of class.4- Teachers stated that they usually enter the lesson by motivating the students. Moreover they pointed out that the methods and techniques used on account of new primary school curriculum cause loss of time in class.5-Interviewers stated that announcements made during the lesson cause lack of attention and ceasing to care for lesson and so these take time from the lesson. They emphasized that these announcements must be made in break times.6- Teachers noted that they can not use course objectives balanced with class time. They assigned the reason of this is that there are so many acqusitions together with the new schedule.7- Interviewers expressed that they often see undiserable student attitudes and they lose time while dealing with these attitudes during the lesson.8-Teachers emphasized that the content knowledge is important.9- Individual differences among students are considered as important characteristics among the students. While supervisors said that the classes, having many individual differences among students, have problems, they expressed that classes having many individual differences are more unsuccessful, and teachers have to prepare themselves better.10- Teachers expressed that they leave subjects that they cannot teach, to the next lesson.11- Teachers objected taking time from the break times stating that the break time is to take time from breaks. The students? indispensable right. Most of the supervisors and administrators also objected to take time from breaks.12- Teachers complained about testing and evaluation together with new curriculum, generally stating that they have not enough time, there are so many testing and evaluation scales and also they can not assess in the end of evaluation. Many of the supervisors pointed out about testing and evaluation that teachers have some problems on this matter and they believed that these are inadequate at this point.Key Words: class management, time management
