THE ORGANIZATIONAL HEALTH PERCEPTION OF THE PRIMARY SCHOOLS?ADMINISTRATORS AND TEACHERS (ANTALYA CASE)Nazire ÇOBANThe purpose of this study is to determine what the perception level of the organizationalhealth of the administrators and teachers is.The population of study was 4402 administrators and 397 teachers in 188 public andprivate primary schools in the city of Antalya in the academic year of 2005-2006. The samplewas composed of 111 administrators and 389 teachers. The stratified sampling has been used todetermine the study?s sample. Determined number of administrators and teachers were randomlyselected.In the study `organizational health scale? which developed by Akbaba (1997) have beenused for measuring instrument. The data are analyzed by using LISREL 8.54 and SPSS forWindows software package and frequencies, mean and standard deviation have been calculated.In the analysis of the data exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, first order factor analysis,t-test, one way and two way variance analysis were used. In the cases of significant differencesPost Hoc Scheffe and Dunnett?s C tests were used in order to find the differences among whichgroups there are difference.It?s resulted that primary school administrators? and teachers? perception level oforganizational health of their schools are in positive. There was a significant relationshipbetween; administrators? and teachers? single effect of their positions and the dimensions oforganizational leadership, cooperation, effect distribution, conflict and organizationalidentification; single effects of school types and all the dimensions of organizational health; botheffects of their positions and school types and the dimensions of team spirit, efficientcommunication and adaptation to the environment, organizational identification ve organizationalproduct; gender and the dimensions of organizational identification; occupational standing andthe dimensions of organizational leadership, team spirit, efficient communication and adaptationto the environment and effect distribution. There was a significant relationship between; teachers?leadership style and all the dimensions of organizational health.
