Burnout in primary school administrators

The aim of this study is to determine the burnout level of school administratorsaccording to the aspects of emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, reduced personalaccomplishment and total burnout levels according to these areas and to reveal how burnoutlevels differ from the perspectives of personal and occupational variables. The research is adescriptive study which determines the present situation. Quantitative approach is used in thestudy. The research is conducted on the data collected from the questionnaire that involvespersonal and occupational information and Maslach Burnout Inventory.As a result, it has been found that administrators experience low level burnout; theyexperience the highest level of burnout in emotional exhaustion while they experience thelowest level of burnout in depersonalization; in total burnout, women experience more burnoutthan men; in emotional exhaustion, reduced personal accomplishment and total burnout, singleones experience it more than the married; in depersonalization, the administrators at a higherage group and having a longer occupational service experience it more than the ones at a lowerage group and having a shorter occupational service; in emotional exhaustion and total burnout,the administrators having a shorter administration service experience burnout more than theones having a longer administration service.
