The comparison of elementary school administrators' authentic ledarship and psycological capital features

Educational organizations meeting the needs of the changing society depends on their ability to renew themselves. One of the key factors of this renewal process in the educational organizations is the school administrators. School administrators have to be open to new perspectives in making the needed renewal processes functional. In this regard authentic leadership and psychological capital are research fields that present new perspectives. In this research, different demographical features of elementary school administrators are considered and it is aimed to compare their authentic leadership features and psychological capital levels. In this direction, it is targeted to determine the authentic leadership and psychological capital levels of the Elementary School Administrators of the City of Istanbul, European Part, and it is researched whether there is a relationship between authentic leadership features and psychological capital levels or not. In reaching these purposes, t-test and Kruskal Wallis H-Test are performed, and whenever there is differentiation among the groups, Mann Whitney U Test is performed in order to determine from which group this differentiation stems from. In addition, Correlation Analysis is performed in determining the relationship between the Authentic Leadership Levels and the Psychological Capital Levels and Regression Analysis is performed in determining the effect of the Psychological Capital Levels on the Authentic Leadership Levels of the Administrators who work in the Elementary School in which the research is conducted. When the consequent findings of the research are examined, it is seen that the average Psychological Capital and Authentic Leadership Levels of the administrators who work in the elementary school in which the research is conducted are high. As a result of the examination of the relationship between the Authentic Leadership Levels and the Psychological Capital Levels with Correlation Analysis, a meaningful relationship between psychological capital factors and authentic leadership factors has emerged. Finally, when the Regression Analysis ? which was performed to examine the Effect of Psychological Capital Levels on Authentic Leadership Levels ? results are examined, it is concluded that authentic leadership factors are affected from psychological capital factors, in other words psychological capital factors are the predictor or explanatory of authentic leadership factors.
