Study on effect of mother language's level on learning second language for 8th grade students in primary schools

In this study it?s researced that how effects eight grade student?s Turkish knowledge on their learning English as a second language.It?s thought that every society communicate with their mother language during their daily life.It can be said that the quality of the communication in society is depends on the quality of language they speak.One can say that succes in the schools is related to the mother language which is spoken in the schools because communication in schools is done by the mother language.If mother language does not spoken correctly and effectively it is hard to say one can reach to success at schools.In our schools education of second language is done with the thought that studetns know their mother language enough to learn.At this point students and teachers may faced to many communication problems.In this research it is going to be found out some problems about this and tried to give some solutions to these problems.Key words: education of mother language, education of second language, communication.December 2008Selim Emre Güler
