The Effects of the Usage of Learning Packages on the Achievement, Attitude and Creativity of the Third Year Pupils in Science Courses Şahin DÜNDAR In this research, the usage of the learning package is compared with the traditional teaching method in Science Course. The effects of the usage of the learning package on achievement, attitude towards Science Course and creativity were tested. This research was applied with 34 pupils of the experimental group and 38 pupils of the control group of the third year pupils between January 18 and March 14 during the 2002-2003 academic year in the Şükrüpaşa Primary School in Edirne, Turkey. In the experimental group, courses were taught by the flip chart + tape record for 1 5 minutes, transparencies of overhead projector + tape record for 14 minutes and PowerPoint learning packages for 18 minutes, in the control group, they were taught by the traditional teaching method. In research, "Achievement Tests", "Attitude Scale of Science Course", "Torrance Creative Thinking Test" and " Questionnaire about the Pupils' Opinions towards Learning Package" were used to gather the data. t test was applied on data by using SPSS 10.0 in analyzing the data which were collected and 1 -tailed 0.05 level of significance was taken into account. The main findings of this research are as follows: 1. When the courses were taught by the flip chart + tape record and the transparencies of overhead projector + tape record learning packages in the experimental group, there is a significant difference in favor of the experimental group between the achievement post-test score of the experimental group and the achievement post-test score of the control group. However, when the courses were taught by the PowerPoint learning package in theXV11 experimental group, there is no signifcant difference between the achievement post-test score of the experimental group and the achievement post-test score of the control group. 2. At the end of the unit, there is a significant difference in favor of the experimental group between the Science Course attitude post-test score of the experimental group who were taught by the flip chart + tape record, transparencies of overhead projector + tape record and PowerPoint learning packages and Science Course attitude post-test score of the control group. 3. At the end of the unit, there is no significant difference between the creativity post- test score of the experimental group who were taught by the flip chart + tape record, transparencies of overhead projector + tape record and PowerPoint learning packages and the creativity post-test score of the control group. 4.
