Abstract (EN)

In our country, the things to be done in order to ensure the participation of disabled people in social life are included in the laws and regulations. However, it is seen that the defined requirements are not reflected in the city and architecture sufficiently. In this respect, the "universal design" and tasarım design for all "approach is of great importance in order to ensure the usability of all kinds of individuals with equal opportunities that have become valid in various countries of the contemporary world. Public building schools that provide service to the city / city dwellers should be structures where all individuals with or without disabilities can receive education together. In short, better education for disabled people is a social responsibility. In this context, providing solutions in order not to obstruct the right of individuals with disabilities and to improve the conditions of education necessitates the revision of educational structures in this respect. The aim of the study was to examine the accessibility regulations for disabled people in education buildings and the standards to be followed and to discuss the accessibility of school buildings. In this context, primary education structures which are the first and compulsory part of the education included in the compulsory education program and generally carried out within the scope of the National Education Directorate type projects were examined. The purpose of selecting the schools to be determined and evaluated from the primary schools located in Çukurova District is that Çukurova District is the district with the highest socio-economic level of Adana. The aim of the study is to identify the physical problems that prevent disabled users, especially disabled students from having equal rights and opportunities with other individuals in the primary school buildings selected within the framework of Çukurova District of Adana Province, and to propose solutions in the context of the standards to be followed.
