Teachers' opinions about the effects of the current control aproach to the awaking of teaching consciousness

The main purpose of the research is to describe the effects of the approach of current control to the teaching conscious in the sample of Siirt in elementary education. In the firs part of the research, there is a theoretical analysis about the structure of the approach of current control in Turkish elementary education. In the second part of the research, as an example of Siirt, it is focused on the hypothesis test of activating current control approach to the teaching conscious in the opinions of the teachers who work in elementary schools. The research includes 280 classroom and branch teachers, who were on duty in primary schools in the Siirt province center in 2005-2006 training-education year. A data tool consisting of 24 items, which was developped by my advisor Prof. Dr. Hasan AKGÜNDÜZ, was used in the study. In this context, the data collected from the primary schools in Siirt province center were recorded, and then the recorded data were analyzed using an SPSS package. Frequency, percentage distribution, and Independent-Samples T-test were used for the analysis of the data. Significance level was accepted as 0,05. As a result of the hypothesis test, the critical findings show that current control approach is limited to the power of activating and transforming mental and spiritual life of the teachers. As well, the critical findings display the reality of increasing the needs of outer control.
