The contrubition of the psychological counseling and guidance activities to the integration in primary education

In this thesis study, Integration Problems which primary school students present in Güngören in İstanbul confront are examined and curative effect of Psychological Counseling and Guidance Services is tried to determine.The universe of the thesis study constitutes totally 2500 students who are student in the 6th grade in Güngören in İstanbul between 2008 - 2009 education-academic year.For the sample of the thesis 300 students were choosen from 6 different primary schools; 50 students from each school. In the thesis study ; source-scan, interview, and survey are applied as methods.This research consists of 4 parts: in the first part, information about Psychological Counseling and Guidance, in the second part guidance services in the elementary school, in the third part integration and integration problems are given.In the fourth part of the research,the questions of survey that is applied are interpreted.The survey consists of 2 parts: in the first part, 12 questions about personel informations are asked, in the second part 30 questions about psychological consultant and guidance services at school are asked to the students.According to the findings of research, it is determined that primary school students find psychological counseling and guidance and school consultant?s activities as having positive effect on integration problems they confront .Any finding which reflects students?negative opinion about guidance activities has not seen in the survey.Key Words: Psychological Counseling and Guidance, Adolescence, Primary Education, Integration, Integration Problems, Behavioral Disorders
