Investigation of scientific creativity levels of primary school 4th grade students

The aim of this study is to determine psychometric properties of the Turkish version of the Scientific Creativity Test. In order to get a general conclusion by reaching many participants and to define the subject more easily, a screening model is used in the research. Scientific Creativity Test consists of three subtests: Problems and Solutions, Grouping Flowers and Experimental Design. There are 3 items in the 1st subtest, 4 items in the 2nd subtest, 3 items in the 3rd subtest. Teacher assessments are also used in the test. The test was applied to two groups as pre-application and actual application. Preliminary application was applied to 80 students and the actual application was applied to 130 students. Thus, the final version of the test is obtained. The reliability coefficient of the test was found to be 693. Most of the Scientific Creativity Test Items were found to have medium-level significant correlation. When the scores obtained from subtests of Scientific Creativity Test were examined according to gender variable, it is found that the level of scientific creativity of female students was higher than male students in Flowers Grouping and Experimental Design subtest scores. On the other hand, it was concluded that there was no significant difference between girls and boys in the Problems and Solutions subtest.
