Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between the empathic tendencies of primary school 4th grade students and the caring of family unity. The research was carried out on 224 primary school 4th grade students in Tutak district of Ağrı. The research was carried out with the screening method, which is one of the quantitative research methods. In this context, a relational screening model was used to examine the relationship between students' empathic tendencies and caring for family unity. The research data were collected with empathy tendency scale, family unity care scale and personal information. The collected data were analyzed with spss 22.0 data analysis package. Correlation analysis was conducted while examining the relationship between students' empathy tendencies and caring for family unity and their sub-dimensions (love, respect, communication, loyalty). Simple linear regression analysis was performed for the results of the students' empathy tendencies, considering the unity of the family and how much the relationship between their sub-dimensions explained. Do the students differ in terms of their empathy tendencies and family unity, depending on the number of siblings and being a brother of the opposite sex? t test analysis was used for the problem. Accordingly, a positive and low level of significant relationship was found between students' empathic tendencies and caring for unity, respect, and communication sub-dimensions. A positive and moderately significant relationship was found between the empathic tendencies and the love sub-dimension. There was no significant relationship between empathy trends and loyalty value. The results of simple linear regression analysis on how much of child empathy tendencies explain sub-dimensions of caring for family unity are as follows. There is a significant relationship between students' empathy tendencies and their sub-dimensions, respect, love, and communication, and empathy tendencies explain 11.6% of love, 6.7% of communication, 1.7% of respect. There was no significant relationship between empathy trends and loyalty and explained 1.2%. Do students differ in their empathy tendencies and family unity in terms of their number of siblings and being a brother of the opposite sex? The t test results related to the problem are as follows. Students' empathy tendencies do not differ significantly based on the number of siblings and the fact that they have siblings from the opposite sex. The students do not differ significantly depending on the importance of family unity and their sub-dimensions (love, respect, communication, loyalty) according to the number of siblings and being a brother of the opposite sex.
