Examine the opinions of students parents teachers and administrators on the reading comprehension levels of primary school fourth grade students

The aim of this study is to examine the opinions of students, parents, teachers and administrators on the reading comprehension levels of primary school fourth grade students. It was adopted the phenomenology method of qualitative research methods in the studies carried out. The study group of the research consists of a total of 89 people, including 27 primary school students, 19 primary school fourth-grade students, 15 school administrators, and 28 parents of students studying in 11 primary schools in the central district of Erzincan in the 2020-2021 academic years. In the research, 'semi-structured interview form for teachers' and 'semi-structured interview form for administrators' were used as data collection tools. The analysis of the data obtained within the scope of the research was provided by content analysis. According to the research findings, primary school fourth grade students' level of reading comprehension is not sufficient and the main factors affecting this situation are: not exposing children to books at an early age, the family not being a role model in reading, and inadequate practices by teachers and administrators to understand what they read in the classroom and in school management.
