Review of the situations how consciously primary school 4th grade students use school canteeens

This research has been made in order to review the situations how consciously 4th grade students use the school canteens. For this purpose, "using school canteen consciously scale" was developed, which in cludes 16 clauses and consists of three subdimensions. The scale ,which consists of subdimensions such as "quality", "responsibility" and "need", was applied tototally 1071 primary school 4th grade students consisting of 513 (%48) girls and 558 (%52) boys who study in Körfez, Kocaeli in 2016-2017 Education year. As there were two in dependent change able levels for gender, kind of school, and the condition whether mother has a revenue generating job, importance control of the differences between the point averager of using school canteen consciously was made with the t-test which is applied to independent change able levels for going to school by having breakfast, family income, getting an allowance from family, using school canteen, being pleased with school canteen, conditions of ,for what reasons using the school canteen most; the importance control of difference srelated to factors as mentioned was determined with one-signed variance analysis in case of variances, being homogeneous ,yet was determined with welch test in case variances were not homogeneous. Conditions in which one sided variance analysis result is considered significant, scheffe test was used with the aim of finding out the gaparising from which differences between avarages. But, cases in wich variances were not homogeneous, Tamhane test was made fordual comparisons when welch test technique was used. As a result of this research, it was discovered that 4th grade studens don't use school canteen consciously at a desirable level and meaning fully differentiate in favour of school girls according to their genders, at the quality size of levels of using school canteen consciowly; in favour of students who continue private schools according to kind of school they go on; to need extent in favour of those whose mother has a revenue generating job according to conditions in which wheter mother has a revenue generating job; to quality extent in favour of students who always go to school having breakfast according to conditions in which whether they go to school having breakfast or not; to views, quality, responsibility and scale in all, related to using school canteen consciously in favour of those whose family is high according to the family income; to all extents in favour of those who get allowance weekly according to the cases of their getting alowance from family; infavour of those who uses canteen according to his/her need to all extents according to frequency of using canteen ;infavour of those who are much pleased with canteen to quality extent according to cases of being pleased with canteen; in favour of those who uses canteen for satisfying hunger to quality and need extens according to reasons for using school canteen most. Findings obtained were discussed under the ligth of literatüre and recommendations were included.
