Evaluation of elementary school first grade Turkish course software in accordance with teachers' opinions

Abstract (EN)

The objective of this research is to evaluate the elementary school Turkish course software in accordance with teachers' opinions. Descriptive survey model was used in this research. A questionnaire form based on five-point likert scale with regards to evaluation of elementary school first grade Turkish course educational software by the teachers was used as data collection tool. Data was obtained by the survey developed and its validity and reliability was ensured by the researcher. Moreover, semi-structured interview method was also used in the research. 110 class teachers in total comprising of elementary school 1st grade teachers located in city of Elazığ and 1st grade teachers working in schools with multi-grade classes during 2011-2012 academic year generate the sample of the research. "SPSS 21.0" statistical package program was used in evaluation of data. Frequency, percentage, arithmetic average, independent samples t-test, one-way analysis of variance were used in the analysis of the opinions taking place in the survey. The participants of the research generally opine positively on the opinion section with regards to evaluation of education software for first literacy education. In accordance with the gender variable of the participants of the research, no significant difference was found with regards to gender variable in consequence of the t-test conducted in relation with the opinions about Turkish Course Software's content, formal conformity, conformity to children level and availability to teachers. In accordance with the professional seniority of the research participants, when the general opinions with regards to conformity level of the teacher's utility of the educational software, it was determined that teachers with 1-5 years of experience found it less convenient when compared to teachers with 6-10 years of experience. Based on the research findings, when it is taken into consideration that elementary school first grade Turkish course educational software was generally found positive; it might be stated that educational software is found successful by the participants.
