Abstract (EN)

A Study on the Relationship Between Primary School Students' Parents' Attitude Towards Eating Habits and Body-Mass Index of Children and Their Parental Functions In this research; elementary school 1st grade students? (66-84 months) families performing levels of family functions, the relationship between the families attitudes and behaviors of child nutrition and the child's body mass index were examined. The aim of this study is to reveal that whether there is a significant relationship between families attitudes and behaviors of child nutrition and the child's body mass index and elementary school 1st grade students? families performing levels of family functions. The system of research prepared in accordance with the relational scanning model are 16 primary school 1st class students selected with random sampling from 33 elementary school in Bornova district of the province of Izmir. The sample of the study are students of a branch of the 16 schools which are selected by determining the management of cluster sampling. Data collection tools used in this study; Child Feeding Questionnaire( CFQ),validity and reliability study has been made by Nurdan CAMCI and Family Functions Rating Scale, validity and reliability study has been made by Prof. Dr. Işıl BULUT and Body Mass Index (weight (kg) / height (m)). After taking required permissions, necessary information were obtained from the study by applying the determined scales and as a result of all applications, the data have been brought together to be analyzed. The data of the research consist of the answers of primary school 1st class students? families. The application has already been explained to principal and teachers, particularly, guide teachers were asked for help. The data were evaluated by using statistical package SPSS program. In analyzing the data, descriptive statistics were made in accordance with the individuals? answers to the questions of surveys.
