İnvestigation of infographic design and abstracting processes from the biology knowledge texts of primary school students in terms of different variables

In these days, due to occured advances by technology the expectations of individuals increase whereas the information processing becomes easier and faster. İn this context, infographics of the verbal and visual elements have a significant effect in the field of education in providing effective and memorable information. This study aims to examine the effects of science courses and biology subjects on the cognitive structures and knowledge levels of elemantary school students in terms of science and infographic design. As a research method, pre-test post-test control group is used with experimental task. The data collected within the of the study. They are uploaded digital platform and the analyzed with numerical coding. The group is included students of the primary school for 4th grade in Erzincan throught the academic year in 2017-2018. 48 people were studied. This study is carried out with 48 people that includes two claseses with 24 students. As a data collection tool, the Word correlation test and the recall test were used. In the analysis of the data non-parametric tests were used. For this purpose the Wilcoxon tests was used to compare the Mann Whitney U test and pre-test post-test scores obtained in the tests according to the research model. As a result of the analyzes the experimental group students have been more succesful and it can be said that teaching by infographic design leads to a higher achievement score than classical teaching.
