The relationship between the perceptions of primary school teachers on the work life quality and the level of job satisfaction (Sample of central district of Balikesi̇r)

The main purpose of the research is to determine whether there is a relationship between the perception levels of primary school teachers regarding work life quality and job satisfaction levels. The research was designed in survey model. Target population of the research consists of 1558 teachers working in official primary schools affiliated to the central districts of Balıkesir, Altıeylül and Karesi District National Education Directorates. The research data were collected with the scale of "Work Life Quality" and "Minessota Job Satisfaction". Confirmatory factor analysis, descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation, median), unrelated samples t test, one way variance analysis, Mann Whitney U test, Kruskal Wallis H test statistical techniques were used to analyze the data. SPSS 25 and LISREL 8.2 programs were used in data analysis. Findings obtained in the study show that teachers mostly participate in stress behavior in business life. Statistically significant differences were found in the opinions of teachers about work life quality according to variables of gender, professional seniority, duration of service and branch. The job satisfaction of teachers participating in the research is high. It was determined that the average of job satisfaction and external satisfaction scores differed according to the gender variable. There was no statistically significant difference in terms of age, gender, professional seniority, duration of service in the school in which they work, level of education and area. A moderately significant positive relationship was found between work quality and work satisfaction.
