Investigation of the relationship between marital satisfaction and perfectionism of teachers and administrators in governmental primary schools

Abstract (EN)
In this study, it has been aimed to determine the relationship between marital satisfaction and perfectionism of teachers and administrators in governmental primary schools. According to the study, the screening model has been used to answer the following questions: The sample of the study is formed by teachers and administrators who work in primary schools in Esenyurt district of İstanbul. In the study, the Marital Satisfaction Scale (EDO) developed by CANEL (2007) and the Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale, the original one has been developed by Hewit-Flett (1991), the Turkish adaptation study done by Oral (1999) and the Personal Information Form developed by the researcher has been used.The data analysis was performed by using SPSS 15.0 software. Comparison of measurements with the data of the group of more than two non-parametric was done by using Kruskal-Wallis, and the comparison of group which consists of independent sample of one-way analysis of variance mean was determined by using One Way ANOVA, t-test, frequency-percentage, mean deviation, and correlation values. The findings of the study are as follows: The correlation between levels of marital satisfaction and perfection; marital harmony-oriented perfectionism subscale score of their own is a significantly negative relationship-oriented perfectionism. There couldn?t be determined any meaningful relationship between marital satisfaction subscale score of others with lower scores. It has been determined is a negative relationship between relational happiness, conflict, marital adjustment, communication with the in-laws with the lower scores of community-oriented perfectionism. Relational happiness, marital adjustment, and marital communication with his/her family and has a total negative relation between perfectionism subscale scores.
