Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to reveal the characteristics of the end-of-theme assessment questions in the textbooks of two, three and fourth grade Turkish textbooks taught by the Ministry of National Education in primary schools in terms of the psychometric properties of language and expression and test item types. survey model was used in the research. The study group of the study consisted of two, three and fourth grade Turkish textbooks, which were taught in the primary schools of the Ministry of National Education in 2018-2019 academic year. The data collection tool was used to determine the end-of-theme evaluation questions in these books and these questions were examined according to the document analysis method. As a result of the research, it was seen that the end of theme evaluation questions are generally appropriate in terms of language and expression according to the criteria of spelling rules, punctuation marks, word numbers in sentences, clarity and grammar rules. It was determined that the questions in the end-of-theme evaluation studies consisted of open-ended, short-answer, multiple-choice, gap-filled, matching and true-false test items, and there were also questions that did not comply with the questions complying with the quiz criteria particular to these test items. In accordance with these results, it has been suggested that textbook writers should pay attention to the language and the expressionand the psychometric principles while writing the questionsand the textbooks should be examined carefully by experts.
