The correlation between social justice leadership behaviours of school principals working in primary and secondary schools and the levels of worki̇ng alienation of teachers

The present study aims to investigate the relation between headmasters' behaviours with respect to social justice leadership who works at primary schools and secondary schools and teachers' perceptions with regard to working alienation. In the study, the correlational survey model was employed. 10398 teachers who worked in Gaziantep during the 2019 – 2020 academic year consisted the population of the study. Simple random sampling method was utilised in the study. Firstly, questionnaires were delivered to 458 teachers who worked at Şehitkamil, Gaziantep, then 23 responses which were obtained among 458 questionnaires were excluded, and 435 of them were analysed. Data collection tools which were employed in the study were Personal Information Form, Social Justice Leadership Scale and Work Alienation Scale. The findings which were obtained from the study were computerized, and they were analyzed through SPSS 22 packaged software. Also normality tests were applied for analyzing data properly, and it was revealed that there was a normal distribution of results. Additionally, correlation analysis was performed in order to measure the relation among variables, and regression analysis was practiced to determine to what extent independent variables had an impact on dependent variables. To discover independent variables' effect on dependent variables unpaired t test was implemented when there were two groups, and in the case of that there were more than two groups, One-Way ANOVA test was implemented. According to the results which were attained from teachers' views, there is a negative, low and meaningful relationship between headmasters' behaviours related to social justice leadership and teachers' perceptions regarding work alienation. Besides headmasters' social justice behaviours have a significant impact on teachers' work alienation according to the findings which were obtained from regression analysis (F(4-430)=7.718; p<.001). In accordance with the findings of the regression analysis, teachers' work alienation due to their headmasters' behaviours in regard to social justice leadership is explained at the ratio of %6.6 change.
