Illustration courses enhanced teaching of environment student attitudes products and reflection of the opinions

This thesis aims to examine teaching methods and environments of illustration course story illustration module. It also purposes to identify the effect of applied methods and technics on the student?s behavior and story illustration designs.In this research post ? test control group model with two groups is applied and these groups are identified as experimental (N: 21) and control (N: 21) groups. Students who take the story illustration module education in Ankara Etimesgut Girls? Technical and Vocational High School and Hayri Aslan Technical and Vocational High School in students of graphics and photographs section in 11st class 2011- 2012 academic year constitute the working group of study.Research data collection tools are weekly observation form, product rating scale, and student course evaluation questionnaire. Eight weeks of teaching is applied by the researcher to groups. Traditional teaching environment and the story illustration module education are applied to the control group. Enriched teaching environment and the story illustration module education which consists of dry ? wet paint, marker, ecoline paint and collage techniques prepared by researcher is applied to the experimental group. Observation forms are evaluated by grade scorecards and T-test was performed on the basis of article. T ? test was applied to the results of product assessment scale, student course evaluation survey results and the arithmetic average of the frequency differences between the substance to be determined on the basis of teachings in T ? test were studied. All scale data are analyzed and interpreted.Results show that there are differences between traditional and enriched educational settings in story illustration education. This research underlines that enriched teaching environment and story illustration education which is prepared for this study has a positive effect on the student?s behavior and motivation levels were determined during training followed by an increasing trend. Information prepared within the scope of research topics and techniques of illustration, illustration of the story by changing the design of the training content, design students, to increase awareness achieved, progress has been made on the adequacy of design and functionality. Groups on the observations in the control group received training and learning environments is dominated by indecision and negative view of the experimental group achieved a positive outlook is dominated by a generalization. Enriched academic environment and training in the story, illustration, story illustration illustrations of student?s behavior, student observation and a positive reflection of the design is to be effective.Key words: Traditional teaching environment, enriched teaching environment, illustration, illustration techniques, and story illustration.
