Abstract (EN)
Making sense of existence as one of the basic search of human beings is ensured by the internalised development of the environment and society that humanbeings lives with. For the person who wants to develop her/his existence and society, one of the most effective tools to be used for this purpose is the art, which expresses her/his honesty, freedom and creativity. When the society of individuals who learned to see before to speak is shaped and developed, it uses the illustration art which is one of the most important parts of visual culture. In this context, the illustration artist shoulders certain responsibilities to develop the society. This thesis titled "Social Identity of Illustration Artist and Their Effects on Society" explores the illustration artists' attitude in her/his art, towards the socio-cultural, political and social conditions of their age and how this attitude affects the society they live in.
