The benefits of illustrations and their contribution to education as visual in elementary schools? books

This research,was prepared for the purpose of evaluating conditions of visual effectiveness about illustrations in Turkish lesson books of first grade of Primary Education published in 2007-2008 academic year and lectured in schools associated to Ministry of Education. After effectiveness of illustrations is analyzed in terms of visual point, it is other aim to display contributed modernity to education. In accordance with these purposes, views of participants who attended to survey were taken with the questions of graphic design about illustrations of Turkish lesson books.Turkish lesson book, ( 1. 2. and 3. grade) which was educated at primary schools associated to Ministry of Education in 2007-2008 academic year, forms study space of thesis. 6 illustration practices, which were chosen by random sample technique from the space, had composed sampling of study.The survey, which to be prepared for data collection, implemented 30 individuals who had a graduate from mastership of illustrate and mastership of graphic. The obtained symptoms could be commented by virtue of charts.These symptoms could be attained at the end of survey.-On illustrations in Turkish lesson books of first grade of Elementary School, design efficiency, regulating development characteristic of target audience in agreeable content and the topics of simplifying understanding were considered as insufficient. Accurate attractiveness of colors, connection between text and illustration and being in powerful quality of illustrations were to be considered as partly adequate. Technique of illustrations was approved by who attended to survey.-On illustrations in Turkish lesson books of second grade of Elementary School, connection between text and illustration, design efficiency, regulating development characteristic of target audience in agreeable content, simplifying understanding and being in powerful quality of illustrations were considered as inadequate by who attended to survey. Accurate attractiveness of colors, originality of illustration and page layout were to be thought as partly qualified. Technique of illustrations was approved by who attended to survey.-On Illustrations in Turkish lesson books of third grade of Elementary School, accurate attractiveness of colors, design efficiency, being in powerful quality were viewed as inefficient by who attended to survey. Connection between text and illustration and page layout were to be thought as partly satisfactory. Technique of illustrations was approved by who attended to survey.As this result, a lot of advices would be given.
