Abstract (EN)

One of the areas where music is effective is religion. As in all forms of Turkish music, in religious music, it is considered important to use the tunes appropriately and correctly while knowing the maqams and performing the religious forms. This is the reason why it would be beneficial to benefit from musical education in the early stages of Imam-Hatip High School students who train religious officials. One of the most important forms of religious music, the adhan, which is recited five times a day from the minarets as an invitation to prayer, in a way that everyone can hear, shows its changes according to the education they received. It is considered necessary for the imam-hatips working in mosques to have knowledge about not only the azan, but also about many forms of mosque music and to be able to practice it. The types of Mosque Music, which are under the obligation of Religious Turkish Music, are a heritage in Turkish history and culture. For this reason, it is important in this field that music is taught and brought to light well in schools and that is performed correctly mosques by imams, muezzins and important musicians. In order to reach the solution of the problem we discussed, it was organized in the field research method using the scanning model. For this purpose, after the literature review on the subject, it was recorded and documented visually and sensorial with a semi-structured interview with imams working in Ayvacık. As a result of the interviews; descriptions were made, it was seen that the music course given in religious vocational high schools was not enough and enough importance was not given, and it was concluded that the imams who started to work after graduâting from these schools were deficient in these subjects. Referring to the importance of religious music education given at religious vocational high schools; within this study, it is considered important because of the contribution it will make to the field in terms of revealing the differences between the imams who receive the course in the early period and the imams who have never received this course in terms of their proficiency at religious vocational high schools, where voice and theme education, which is inevitable for religious officials, is started to be received at an early period. In addition, the fact that the religious vocational high school students, who are trained as religious officer candidates have learned the music education and art, is important in terms of showing that they should receive religious music education in the program, considering that it will affect the religious services positively. In this direction, the subject of the research is determining whether imams working in the Ayvacık district of Çanakkale received religious music lessons during their high school years, describing their competencies about religious music forms from the perspective of Folklore and analysing the results.
