Abstract (EN)

Humans are born, grow up and eventually face a reality we call death. Before the time comes, people need things like shelter, food and drink to continue their lives. In other words, "sustenance" (rizq) covers everything necessary for people to maintain their lives; "death" on the other hand, is the end of life, the ultimate reality. These two concepts, which constitute the main agenda items of every person with or without a belief, also have an important place in the religion of Islam. In the main axis of these two concepts, which find a wide place in the Qur'an, the creator is the perpetrator. These two concepts, which are also discussed within the schools of Kalam, in the debates led by the Mu'tazila school, while the Ash'ari school and the Maturidi school represent one side, the Mu'tazila are on the opposite side. In our study, we have included thoughts about death and sustenance in the Shia school, which is one of the important schools and has found a place among Muslims from past to present. At the beginning of the topics discussed over the concepts of sustenance and death, there are issues such as what is sustenance, is haram sustenance, what is death, is man's death one. In our study, besides mentioning the thoughts of these schools on the subject of sustenance and death, the backbone of our thesis will be Maturidi's thoughts on the concepts of death and sustenance. We tried to identify Mâturîdî's thoughts on sustenance and death through his works "Te'vîlâtü'l Qur'an" and "Kitâbü't Tevhîd" and to mention his unique point of view on this issue. In addition, we tried to reveal Mâturîdî's point of view by identifying the points where Mâturîdî resembles and diverges with these schools while referring to the thoughts of other schools
