Abstract (EN)

The Effects of IMF-Supported Stabilization Programs on Income Distribution ( Turkey as a Case ) Turkey has been applied the stabilization programs in certain times by making stand by regulations since 1950. The demand restricting measures were continually put into practiced in IMF programs. On the other hand, the production side of the economy has always been neglected. There are two reasons in applying IMF programs. One is the difficulties in obtaining of foreign sources. The other is the lack of the opportunities of the country. It is very important to spend income loaned from IMF for the necessary areas. Otherwhise, trying to cover the insability by paying dept with a dept would cause a vicious circle. Many macro balances has been spoiled because of applied programs for years with this mentality. Also, It has caused injustice in income distribution. The first part of the study, the factors effecting the income disribution and the situation of the personel, functional, regional of its were examined in Turkey. The stabilization programs supported by IMF and the income distrubition were investigated in the second part. In the last part of the study, the comparation of the income distrubition in the programs applied and unapplied has been made. As a result, The income distribution per person and the income share of the salary were decreased in the periods that IMF programs was applied.
