Abstract (EN)

Implant treatment is a functional and aesthetic solution for tooth loss. Implant stability is one of the most important criteria for the long-term success of osseointegrated implants. There are two types of stabilization when establishing an implant-bone connection; primary and secondary. In long-term control studies of implant success, it has been determined that many complications may occur following the prosthetic phase. These complications; fractures in implant components, fractures in the superstructure, abutment loosening, marginal bone loss, and osteointegration impairment. The most common technical complication was abutment screw loosening. Based on the previous knowledge, this study aimed to compare manual and automatic torque devices in implant-supported prostheses in terms of torque success. A total of 40 implants, abutments, and screws were used by dividing into two main groups according to the brands (Alpha Dent n=20; Mode n=20). After that, ten implants, abutments, and screws of the same brand in the subgroups were at 15 N-cm, 25 N-cm, and 35 N-cm by tightened with a manual torque wrench (ratchet) or automatic screwdriver. Finally, the screws were loosened with a torque measuring device, and the unscrewing torque values were noted. In all three torque values, higher torque values were obtained in the abutments of the alpha dent implant than mode implant abutments. There was no significant difference between the brands in the three torque values in the automatic torque device. There was a significant difference between the two brands at 15 N-cm in manual torque devices. In all three torque values, the torque value obtained with the Alpha Dent implant's own ratchet was found to be higher than the torque value obtained from the automatic screwdriver, and the difference in the torque value of 15 N-cm was found to be significant. The torque value of the Mode implant at the torque value of 25 N-cm and 35 N-cm was found to be higher than the torque value obtained from the automatic screwdriver, the torque value obtained from the automatic screwdriver at the value of 15 N-cm was higher, and no significant difference was found. Regardless of the implant brand, when the torque values obtained from the implant brands' own ratchet and the torque values obtained from the automatic screwdriver were examined together, the values obtained from the screwdriver in each of the three different torque values were higher than the screwdriver, and the significant difference was found only in the torque value of 15 N-cm.
